The Secret Behind Advertising

So, today’s subject is about advertising, and about the advertising business overall. I believe that the idea of advertising is great; anyone can put up a poster and gain traction in their shops, because people will notice something worth of their time, like a shiny shop, a billboard etc. rather than a dusty old shop.

The execution though, at least for the most part, isn’t great. By that I don’t mean that the things that companies and shopkeepers put out to advertise their products don’t meet the standards, but rather that they force the products into the consumer’s hands, either by brainwashing them, by bribing them with deals or making them think they’ve found themselves a deal with “low” prices. These are what I like to call “the toxic companies”. It’s the most common type of advertising, and the most annoying. But it doesn’t stop there. These toxic companies make their employees work overtime, even though their contract doesn’t include overtimes.

But we shouldn’t forget the good type of advertising. It’s mostly performed by charities, to boost the interest. These advertisements have been made by someone who worked with passion, rather than with fear of loosing his job. They usually hire a celebrity to help them too, and while most of the celebrities are on a payroll, the real supporters do it for free.

So, to conclude, what do you guys think? Is advertising bad or good? Do you have a reason that supports your statement? Please let us know. Remember to tune in next week! Goodbye everyone.

I bealive that the ads are not so bad. With no ads no one would buy nothing and the standar of living would be very low and the only guys who brainwashing because of the ads are guys whith no critical thinking. Also making ads is risk for companies if the ad shows something unbelievable and the product being advertised is bad the most people will exercise bad criticism and especially if the ad offends human values (like benetton god and devil) the company would lost a lot of money, thats why all the buisnesses make better products and marketing because they want to increase their wealth and not reduce it because of bad ads or ads that advertise as perfect bad product.

  2. Depends really. Some adds can be tasteful and not necessarily bad. As for advertisements that challenge social standards… I for one think that they may even be good for us. The fact that the majority adheres to certain believes and practices doesn’t mean that they are absolute.

Critical thinking on the other hand is an important skill that a lot of people nowadays seem to lack. Increasing wealth isn’t a worthy goal in itself, and the reason why one advertises is usually just that.

Unless humanity turns from the sole pursuit of profit to more humane, universal traits, I think that distasteful adds, products, and acts will overrun the world.

firstly you do not have to be genius to understand if a company steals you, you just have to buy the product and if it sucks you will stop buying from this company.

I think that Increasing wealth is a worthy goal for all the people a single man who raising his money will have always more comfortable life than before thus a company that always increases its wealth will make more and better productrion and will give more jobs.

for the last part I also believe that money should not exceed people
