Outlast 2 is a first person horror game and was developed by Red Barrels. A man by the name Blake Langermann went on a journey with his wife Lynn to find out more details about the death of an unkown pregnant woman. Blake and Lynn are doing their video journal intro when the engine of their helicopter starts fail. They end up crashing on an unknown land, not knowing where each other is.
The game begins there. You wake up as Blake and you try to look for your wife after the crash. You can’t find her around so you continue exploring and wandering around. You pass through an abandoned village and discover that all the people who used to live there believed that the end of the world was coming so they sacrificed little kids to the devil in order for them to get power from him when the end came.
As for the gameplay, Blake doesn’t have any weapons to defend himself. All his has is a camera and some bandages. While processing through the game you will have to run, hide, use bandages to heal yourself, and use your camera’s night vision to explore dark places. It’s a really interesting game but I wouldn’t suggest everyone to play it. Even though it’s a video game, it has a lot of gory and bloody scenes so I would suggest that only people who are at least 18+ should play it.
Overall, I had a ton of fun playing it myself. The mechanics of the game are very interesting, the graphics and the gameplay are really well made and I personally believe that it is one of the best games out there so far.
